Glock Revolvers 38 - In those previous years, other weapons were produced in many cases to less demanding standards. It was created when accuracy meant fitting hands and everyone expected pistols to be a bit more reliable than revolvers. It wasn't long before the "hand-fit vs. reliability" debate was rampant, but until then, Glock was first. The level of reliability demonstrated by Glocks can be approached and matched by other guns, but there is a definite advantage to the former.
Here Glock has a definite advantage. Polymer frames absorb shocks that would crack or break other frames made of aluminum or steel. Unless you're willing to make your gun too big (and therefore too stiff), it won't be very stable. And heavy, who wants that?
Glock Revolvers 38
The big advantage of the Glock Glock is its weight. Or lack thereof, actually. The standard G-17 shows the scale empty at 22 ounces. Comparable pistols are 25 to 30 percent heavier, and revolvers have to be very compact to beat the Glock. Large revolvers cannot do this; small or heavy air; but all of them can't afford it.
Revolver Vs. Semi Auto
The curve of the Glock frame is relatively high, placing your hand higher behind the gun and reducing leverage during recoil. The curve on the 1911 is still not as high as the Glock.
The useful shape of the Glock grip comes from two things; polymer design and European quest for "natural pointed angle" between claw and bore. The polymer design of the Glock frame means there is no need for a grip. And eliminating clutches also means no clutch screws, no bushings to loosen, and no need to worry about them coming loose.
The Glock rail is ... so small that they add nothing to the height of the stack up to the bore. There is no hammer, so the hammer wheel does not interfere with lowering the hole. The barrel locks into the ejection port slide, so the thickness of the steel on top of the barrel is not greater than what is required for structural integrity. And the height of the fireball is just what is needed for the tail to reach the crosshairs of the trigger bar.
Recoil felt low comes from the combination of flexible polymer frame, grip angle and manual charging grip, which has no joints, where (available) is held by the frame and the low bore line is made. Low load helps and low rebound feels because the bike part does not have as much leverage because it is down the frame. Also, the flexibility of the polymer frame changes the nature of the interaction between the slide and the frame.

On a Glock, you can train your dog to move the extractor. You can change the part yourself when you have practiced for about 10 minutes. You can replace old or damaged items or replace the missing items that you threw away during the last cleaning. About the only thing that requires additional equipment or some training is installing a new sight or installing a new non-Glock made barrel.
For its size, the Glock holds more rounds than most other guns. For a short time during the 1994 assault weapons ban, all handguns have a maximum of 10 rounds, at least those with magazines made at that time. Since the sunset of this terrible law, we have returned to a strong magazine. When the G-17 came out, the traditional high-capacity pistols were the Browning Hi-Power in 13 rounds and the S&W M-59 in 15.
For training, less time spent learning "knobs and buttons" means more time can be spent learning eye coordination and trigger control. Students given Glocks posted higher proficiency scores with less time and less shooting than those given revolvers or other handguns.
The Glock design provides a performance air different from other firearms. Yes, it's irrational to attach an emotional state to things, but as emotional beings, that's what we humans do. And you know where I stand on this issue (firmly in the middle) it's my personal feeling that the Glock has all the warmth, charm, personality and character of an industrial tool.
